8 Common Servo Press Applications in Indian Manufacturing
From bearing pressing to EV battery assembly, servo presses are used wherever force and position must be controlled and recorded. Here are eight common uses.

In this article
Electric servo presses have moved from research labs to everyday production lines. The main reason is control: a servo press can follow a programmed force and position profile and check every part. Here are eight common servo press applications we see in Indian factories.
1. Bearing pressing
Bearings must be pressed to an exact depth without overloading the races. A servo press stops at the programmed position and flags any part whose force is outside the allowed window.
2. Press-fitting pins, bushes and shafts
Automotive and pump components use interference fits everywhere. With a force–displacement curve, you can catch a missing chamfer, wrong part or oversize shaft immediately.
3. Riveting and orbital forming
Controlled speed and force give consistent rivet heads with less cracking, especially on thin or coated materials.
4. Staking and caulking
Servo control lets you form material just enough to lock a part in place, without damaging nearby features.
5. EV battery and electronics assembly
Battery modules, connectors and PCB press-fit pins need gentle, precise force and full traceability. Servo presses are a natural fit for these clean-room style processes because they use no hydraulic oil.
6. Medical and precision components
Medical devices often require documented, validated processes. Recording every pressing curve supports quality audits and traceability.
7. Marking and embossing
Programmable depth gives clear, uniform marks on parts of different heights without changing tooling.
8. Testing and quality checks
A servo press can also act as a test machine — checking push-out force, spring rate or the strength of an assembly after it is made.
Why servo control improves quality
- Exact stop position and repeatable force on every cycle
- 100% in-process inspection with force–displacement windows
- Lower energy use and no oil leaks
- Quick changeover — just select a new program
GreenPress® builds electric servo presses from 0.1 to 100 ton, tooled for your part. For heavier forming work we also build hydraulic presses. Tell us about your application on the enquiry page or WhatsApp us for a quick recommendation.
